Cities3D 0.9.2 now available

Cities3D 0.9.2 is now available for download. It has a completely revamped UI, supports Unicode for language translations, and has numerous bug fixes.

Follow the links on the Cities3D Project Homepage to see Release Notes, download the new version, and learn how to report bugs.

NOTE: You must uninstall any previous version of Cities3D, including removing player and game databases. If you don't do this, Cities3D 0.9.2 will crash on startup.

IMPORTANT: If you receive an error that says, "This application could not start because the configuration is not correct. Reinstalling the application could solve the problem", then you need to install the Visual C++ run-time package (2.6 MB) from Microsoft. Use this link to download and install the run-time.

Installed Visual C++ run-time package (2.6 MB) but still "This application could not start because the configuration is not correct. Reinstalling the application could solve the problem"

I am glad to see the progress of this truly successor of Sea3D.

Keep on the good work.

I updated the link in the post to the C++ runtime. Download that version and run it and it will work now.

Thanx Jason now it works! Brilliant stuff, greats, LXT

the 2:1 harbors aren't working in my cities3d. this is the first game i've played on cities. can anyone help?

I don't understand this Cities3D... so... is not a new skins for Sea3D ?

This Cities3D is... strange... :/

The game freezes when you use the monopoly card

How to play a network game? In Sea3D there's a button "Find games" that doesn't exist in Cities3D. If to press Connect, the program asks to specify an IP address, which I don't know. How to use it?

When is the next version going to be released? Thanks

Hello all!

I'm trying to run the latest version of Cities3D but cannot. (No previous version was ever installed.) At first, I got an error message saying that I need to install unicow.dll to run this program. I've done so, restarted my computer, tried running the game again, and... it still doesn't work. Now it says:
"This program uses Unicode but is not using unicows.dll correctly and so cannot work under current operating system. Please contact the program author for an updated version.
Program aborted."

I'm using Win98, is Cities3D even supposed to run under that? Just because if it doesn't, then maybe either the website or a txt file in the download could say so.

Also, on a related note: why can you only register on the forums after two ladder games? I'd like to go there and ask for help running the game, but I cannot do that until I've run the game for a while! I cannot even use the "Report a bug" feature, since that too require forum access. I don't want to throw around strong words like "stupid" too casually, but it's definitely rather counter-intuitive at the very least.

I just recently installed v0.9.2 (Nov 2007). In hotseat mode there are two problems I am noticing are 1) none of the 2:1 trade harbors are working (either for building or in the bank), and 2) development cards are lost if they are played incorrectly (if a card can't be played, the code should not allow them to be played).

download s3d connector not cities, c3d is in development limbo and has been for 2 years.

omg im baned why?
were i can see why im baned?
i dont do nothing bad in that game =( =( =(
